Strong Legs 10K

Finally the results are posted. I did better than the previous one but was not able to go below 10min/mile pace. It was a hilly course though, I stopped counting the hills after the 6th one! The course was definitely harder than the one I did on labor day.

last 10K of 2011

I will be doing my last 10K of this year in November. Since I was able to shave 3 minutes off of my peachtree road race result I am looking forward to Strong Legs race to make my time even better than the labor day 10K which was 1:05.
Let's see if I can bring it down to 1 hr range....

not 5 but close enough

4.5 miles : 46 minutes 31 seconds : 10:20.22 minutes/mile

Running... running...

I am planning to go for a 5 mile run today. I hope it gets cool down a little bit by 7.30pm. And I hope there are not many people around in the park with bicycles, so I can avoid getting hit by a bicycle! Yes, last time when I was in Chattahoochee park I was hit by a bike! :) I mean, come on now! We see traffic signs everywhere to keep cyclists safe, but how about runners??? If you see a cyclist on the road you give way to him/her. they even have their own lanes! And this incident happened in a park, on a running trail. The aversion I now feel towards the cyclists is justified!!

One of the seven tips I found on a site talking about how not to get hit by a bike:
"[1] Look for the bicycles themselves, and try not to walk into a moving one. Bear in mind that a bicycle is not always in a bike path. It could be anywhere, even in your bathtub."

Installing Husband :)

A colleague of mine sent me this hilarious email this morning and I loved how they put the transition in software terms! :)

A woman writes to the IT Technical support Guy

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and I noticed a distinct slowdown in the overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NEWS 5.0, MONEY 3.0 and SOCCER 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and House cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,

DEAR Madam,

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: i thought you loved me.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Silence 2.5 or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.

You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance.
We recommend: Cooking 3.0 and Nice Looks 7.7.

Good Luck Madam!

it is the same old one....

draw9patch tool not working

I am guessing this is a bug. After placing the swing-worker-1.1.jar under your Android sdk/tools/lib it started working. Voila! :) I don't need to worry about fitting my image in different size of devices. I am loving my Android more and more each day.

You can get the jar from here.
